A quick and comforting pasta dish featuring tender noodles tossed in a creamy tomato garlic sauce ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

12 ounces pasta such as penne or fettuccine
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic minced
1 can 15 ounces crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon tomato paste optional
1 cup heavy cream
1 half cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 quarter teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley
Reserved pasta water as needed

Instructions

  • Bring salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente reserving one cup of pasta water.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté garlic briefly.

  • Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste and simmer.

  • Stir in heavy cream and simmer gently.

  • Add Parmesan and stir until melted.

  • Season with salt pepper and red pepper flakes.

  • Toss cooked pasta with sauce adding pasta water as needed.

  • Garnish with fresh herbs and serve.

Notes

Simmer gently after adding cream to maintain smooth texture. Use reserved pasta water to adjust sauce consistency. Serve immediately for best results.
